Asian or Indian Male Wanted for Attempted Kidnapping

ChicagoThis alert gives notice to residents of the 008th District of an Attempt Kidnapping that occurred at the 4300 block of West Ford City Dr. on September 10, 2017 at approximately 9:30 a.m.

An adult female victim was walking her dog, when an unknown offender attempted to engage the victim in conversation. The offender offered the victim a piece of candy and the victim walked away from the offender. The offender approached the victim from behind, grabbed her arm and placed a white rag over her face. During the encounter, the victim’s dog bit the offender.

After the victim escaped, the offender fled in a vehicle northbound through a parking lot towards 76th St.

About The Offender

Male Asian possibly Indian, 50 years old, 5’05, 150 lbs, dark brown hair, spoke with a heavy accent, wearing a black jacket with red sleeves, brown khaki pants, brown plaid shirt, and black dress shoes.

Vehicle Description

White panel van with two rear windows and side sliding door, missing rear license plate, unknown year and model.

What You Can Do

Always be aware of your surroundings

Walk in pairs or groups

Dial 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity immediately

Never pursue a fleeing assailant, provide the information to the police.
