Stevenson

Ebonee Stevenson is a frontline veteran community development professional, Black urban farmer, workshop facilitator, and community-based educator. She is a self-professed agriculture nerd with over 15 years of experience focused on community organizing in marginalized communities of color.

She has worked with many community-based organizations, unions, religious and educational institutions. Some of the issues she has worked on include affordable housing preservation, youth homelessness, healthcare justice, worker’s and tenant’s rights.

Other issues she has organized around are juvenile detention, violence prevention, education reform, economic justice, & food oppression. She is very passionate about providing the community with true alternatives to violence, incarceration, and the street economy.

In her spare time, she enjoys both urban, and rural farming, growing mushrooms, creating vegetarian/vegan meals, consuming large quantities of boba, and experimenting with different kimchi recipes.

Ebonee Stevenson joined The News School to be able to use her previous community development experience to work directly with marginalized communities to bring the news directly to them.
