Elena Wilson is a contributing writer for The News School and a rising junior at the University of Missouri-Columbia studying journalism and Japanese studies. Hailing from the West Side of Chicago, Elena has been writing for local online newspapers and blogs for over four years, including Young Chicago Authors, GlobalGirl Media – Chicago, Concierge Preferred, and more.
While at school, she is a Media Assistant for the Columbia Missourian. She is also a contributing music writer for the online multimedia magazine EnVi Media. At The News School, Elena wants to help serve her local community by providing accessible news on pertinent issues.
Elena hopes to pursue a career in magazine writing emphasizing in entertainment and culture. Through her writing, she wants to bridge cultures and contribute to an increasingly interconnected global society. In her free time, she likes to read, listen to music, study languages, and spend time with friends.
