According to TMZ, 83-year-old Frank Adonis who was known as Anthony Stabile in the 1990 film “Goodfellas” directed by Martin Scorsese died Wednesday Night in Las Vegas after battling multiple illnesses, which he suffered from for many years.
He also appeared as Patsy in “Raging Bull” and Rocky in “Casino.” Both films were directed by Scorsese. Other notable roles were in “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” and “True Romance.”
With over 40 films to his credit, he was best known for his gangster-type characters. He appeared in “Find Me Guilty,” “Mafioso: The Father, The Son, and Mob Queen.”
He also appeared in episodes of “Law & Order,” “The Equalizer” and “The Sopranos,” and smash films like “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” “True Romance,” and “Wall Street.”
Under his birth name Frank Scioscia, he appeared in the films “Spike of Bensonhurst,” “Eyes of Laura Mars” and “Bad Lieutenant.”
Directing and writing credits were also added to his resume. In 1998, he directed “One Deadly Road” and wrote “The Woods Have Eyes” in 2007.
Adonis’ wife Denise told TMZ “He will be missed. He was a great father and an amazing husband. He helped all his friends he could. Great writer, director, and actor. He was my best friend.”
He is survived by his wife Denise and three children.
