National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration(NOAA) stated that there is very little information about the Opah species because their habitat is in the depths of the ocean. The Opah species are normally in tropical and temperate waters. The NOAA said the opah fish has a round and flat body.

In addition, their fins and mouth are red and they have a gold color that surrounds their big eyes. Opah fish has white spots, red rose color, and silver shades on its belly.

Chandler is certain that the Opah had been on the coast for about an hour or less before the aquarium received a notice about it, based on the state the Opah was found in. Even though the opah washed to shore deprived of life, the Aquarians were able to pick up the Opah before any birds attacked it. Chandler stated the Opah would be stored in a sizable freezer.

The Aquarians aims to partner with the Columbia River Maritime Museum, a local organization to prospect Oregon’s tropical fish. One special school class will get the opportunity to protect the Opah with the Aquarians. The aquarium aims to collect all information achievable from Oregon’s tropical fish to gain more knowledge about this species.
