Stocks are all around people everyday and fluctuate more than a roller coaster. A stock is a share in the ownership of a company. Stocks represent a claim on the company’s assets and earnings.

According to CNBC’s Chole Aiello, shares of Williams-Sonoma soared nearly 15 percent in after hours trading.  Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is an American publicly traded consumer retail company that sells kitchen appliences and home furnishings.

Its headquarters is located in San Francisco, California. Williams-Sonoma reported an EPS of 67 cents on revenue of $1.2 billion, versus the 58 cents on $1.16 billion Wall Street expected.

The company also reported strong comparable brand revenue growth at 5.5 percent versus the four percent expected.

After hours is when stocks happen to move either up or down. This has not been the only incorporation to make moves, but L Brands is moving as well. L Brands stock plunged more than 6 percent after the bell. L Brands, Inc. is an American fashion retailer based in Columbus, Ohio. Its flagship brands include Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works.

The brands like Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works reported first quarter financial results that beat analyst expectations on both top and bottom lines, but weakened second quarter guidance.

L Brands issued guidance for second quarter earnings per share, between 30 and 35 cents. Wall Street was expecting an EPS of 41 cents. Shares of L Brands are down about 43 percent year-to-date.

It seems to be that the stock market is moving swiftly after hours. Even more popular stores such as Ross stores stock has fallen more than five percent between the after hours trading. On the other hand, the American worldwide clothing and accessories retailer Gap, shares plunged about 8 percent in extended trading.
